Race Report, by Harold Baker, DAPA Race Director
October 1, 2006

It was a little on the warm side for October 1, but DAPA racers were eager to smoke some tires. Racers Marty Parker, Floyd Hand, David Dudley, George Reaves, Jessica Dudley, and me made the trek to Redline to do DAPA proud. We had numerous spectators cheering us on including Margie Hand, Larry Dudley, HR and Gerri Dudley, Ryan (Jessica’s friend), and Paul Parker. Shawn Patterson ran the “dirty bird” with his Camaro club.

We were all very happy to see Floyd Hand making his season debut. He did good in the Race of Champions, winning his first two races and breaking out in the third round. Jessica won her first race in the Race of Champions and runner-upped in the second round. David had a King class second round dead-on-dial win and almost got a trophy. He broke out in the fourth round. George, Floyd, Marty, Jessica, and me were eliminated in the first round of our respective classes. George Reaves had the white GTO down the track a few times testing some vacuum pumps. We had lots of fun and it is very rare for DAPA to go home empty handed. But we made our competitors earn the wins, as we had no red lights.
