2 0 0 8 Show Guidelines

The Pontiac Southern Nationals Show Committee and Staff will be more than happy to discuss any concerns or questions that participants may have regarding the classification of a vehicle.  However, the Show Chairperson on the basis of overall fairness will make final class decisions to the entire participating class.

Original: These vehicles that are virtually as they were when they rolled off the assembly line. No modifications or alterations excluding factory available equipment, tires, stereo, hose clamps and minor items (i.e. toggle switch under the dash, hidden stereo equipment etc).

Altered: These vehicles with one to six (1-6) alterations. Items considered alterations are virtually anything non-factory installed. Examples would be: After-market wheels (Centerlines were not factory issue), headers, lots of chrome (alternators, pulleys, etc) a small amount of chrome may be considered as one (1) alteration; Mirrors under the hood, or bright colored paint or plastic.

Competition/Race: These vehicles have seven or more (7+) alterations. These will be the barely stock streetcars to full blown racers. Cars with tons of chrome are modified. Major body modifications fit here: molded flares, spoilers and scoops, custom paint and graphics, custom interiors, Recaro’s. And most important, this must be an actual racecar. Must have a recent time slip to enter. Questions?

Competition/Show: Same rules as Race, (7+) alterations, but these are the vehicles that are for more show than go, a car that could be competing in ISCA. In a nutshell, if it does not go down the track, then this is your class.

Our show officials will be classifying your car after you park your car in the show field. In order to achieve consistency in classification and judging, the judges will need full viewing access to the vehicle. After you park, please open all doors, trunk/hatch, and hood. Please do not hesitate to point out all modifications and feel free to ask questions.

All show classes are subject to change. Please complete your dash card prior to
entering the judging area.
